When Andrea and her partner agreed with the owners of this house in Formentera to use it as a tourist house, they started a project full of illusion which received the name of Somnis Charming House, with which the agency Somnis & was born; More. The house is located in the middle of nature, among vineyards and fig trees, in the area of Pilar de La Mola. They chose this area because it’s perfect for disconnecting and relaxing, and that’s what they wanted to convey to the clients staying in the house: an experience of connection, rest and well-being.
The reform project was not complicatedsince the house was in good condition. All the ideas for the new decoration came from Somnis & More’s mind. They wanted the colours to remind them of the land of Formentera, so they chose a range of very soft shades by throwing in the pastels, looking for a warm atmosphere that would encourage relaxation.
The Acapulco chairs in blue that they put on one of the wooden porches, or the green and blue cushions of the living room sofa, are the only exceptions that bet on a more colorful.
Because of the size of the house, which consists of 327 m2 of land with a pool overlooking the countryside that offers total privacy, since there are no neighbors, they knew they could create a concept of villa characterized by the exclusivity of the place. As they wanted to conceive a house where they could enjoy the luxury of nature, they decided to focus on materials such as wood, stone, vegetable fibres… creating spaces that invite you to relax and enjoy the dolce far niente.
One of the spaces that changed completely was the outside. The floor of this area with hammocks where the pool is located was artificial grass. Instead, they decided to place small sand-colored stones that matched the wood of the floor of the porches surrounding the pool much better.
