If you could go back and choose your first apartment again, what would it be like? And if you haven’t been able to get independent yet, what do you expect it to be like? The owners of this small apartment in São Paulo, Brazil – a young couple in love – were clear that their apartment should be much more than a house.
After presenting their wishes to the architects of Studio Canto, the project focused on creating a warm and romantic atmosphere through architecture. A place where the couple could build their own history.
With a reduced budget, the reform had to rely on simple and creative solutions that reflect the essence of the owners.
Because the couple love to cook, the architects elevated the functionality of the kitchen by removing the wall that separated this area from the living room. In this way, they gained an L-shaped worktop perfect for cooking but also for breakfast in the day-to-day or for informal meals.
The living room was designed as the heart of the apartmentThis is the space where the couple spends the most time and enjoys dinner with friends. And this is where macramé makes its presence felt, decorating the wall above the sofa in the company of various botanical illustrations that enhance the naturalness of the room.
With the white colour as a base, the wood adds warmth to the spaces, and the plants are in charge of providing the touch of greenery and freshness.
The bedroom, despite being small and simple, is full of comfort and energy thanks to the wooden headboard.
