A renovated family house on the coast of Galicia

This detached house located on the coast of Vigo, Specifically, in Val Miñor, it had been built for about 10 years when the new owners wanted to clean it up and adapt it to their needs. The property, of approximately 270 square meters, It had never been inhabited, it had no kitchen and it presented the logical deterioration of the passage of time, in addition to the consequences of a flood of waters that once flooded the basement floor.

The objective of the reform consisted of preparing the house and solve all the damages caused by the lack of use of it for so long. The ground floor was completely renovated, creating two additional bedrooms and a bathroom. The kitchen also had to be refurbished and a small courtesy toilet built on the ground floor.

The house was fully furnished and decorated by Espacio Concept.

Regarding the decoration, a very fresh style was sought with small marine notes and a clear predominance of blue tones throughout the house, making a nod to the coastal area where the house is located.

The living-dining room is a very spacious space. The small work corner made up of an IKEA desk with integrated shelving stands out, very light and anchored to the wall on a Vichy checkered wallpaper.

The master bedroom is also a generously sized room and its decoration was approached in a very clean way: double bed with oak foot bench; suspended tables and headboard upholstered in blue, by La Redoute; and wallpaper with a very subtle ethnic pattern, on which the reading lights, by Aromas del Campo, were installed.

In the children’s bedroom, very faithful to the Montessori methodology with beds at ground level, coat racks and shelves accessible to the smallest of the house, the wall was decorated with a turquoise blue paper full of little fish, conceiving a very nice fish tank effect in the beds.

The bathroom on the ground floor follows the same philosophy. Tiled with subway tiles up to half a height (except in the shower), it was decorated with a fish wallpaper in shades of blue that matches the Leroy Merlin washbasin cabinet, and contrasts with the wood-effect ceramic tile on the floor.

The lighting is solved with a led strip on the ceiling and two Aromas del Campo wall lights on the mirror.

In the attic bedrooms, the challenge consisted in creating an auxiliary storage module in the area with the highest roof drop (using large sliding drawers), which at the same time included an oak shelf to function as a shelf / bedside table.

Outside, the house has a large porch that was decorated with furniture from IKEA and Westwing, and textiles from Kave Home. The combination of fibers and blue tones gives a lot of freshness to this outdoor area.
