Where there was darkness, there was light and where square meters were scarce, they were expanded, at least visually, multiplying the feeling of air and freedom. After a comprehensive renovation, this kitchen, once so dark, uncomfortable and old-fashioned, has become a practical and super pleasant space. Behind this fantastic change is Isabel Díaz Vecino, from Estilohome Interiorismo. The work was carried out by Reparaser SL
The kitchen BEFORE the renovation
The layout was poorly arranged, with a narrow hallway and an oversized dining table. The furniture, very old-fashioned and in dark tones, subtracted lighting. It was necessary to update the space and give it life.
The kitchen AFTER the renovation
The interior designer opted for soft and rounded shapes in both the furniture and the lamp (from Ikea) or the handles. For greater harmony, most appliances, except the oven and microwave, are integrated and hidden.
Decorative keys of the new kitchen
- Painted paper. It is the chic note of the kitchen. A simple design, model Cosmopolitan 9, by Gancedo, which combines perfectly with the rest of the wall tiles.
- Dining corner. The table and chairs, by El Corte Inglés, exude a country flavor. In them the warmth of wood is mixed with the clarity of white, transmitting lightness and comfort.
- Wall shelves. Solid wood with an aged effect and white corbel-shaped supports: to decorate and save space. A good solution.
We tell you the keys to rehabilitation.
Independent zones. Three well-defined areas were enabled -cooking, sink and storage- to structure the space and even more was gained by using the back wall. A corner was also reserved for eating next to the window.
Coatings that are trending. Metro-style tiles have been chosen for the sill: beveled, white and matte effect. Another good idea: the combination of two types of flooring, a wood-imitation porcelain tile and a tile carpet inspired by hydraulics (which are currently in full swing today), to frame the cooking area.
Style farmhouse. The rustic design of the furniture (Axtad model from Ikea), the presence of wood (on the countertop, for example) and the dining room table, the vegetable fibers, the display case with glass doors, which lightens the area
superior … Everything evokes the naturalness of country kitchens, very warm and cozy.
Feeling of spaciousness. To enhance natural light and visually expand the space, the exit door to the terrace was changed to a large glass window with a PVC sliding door.
New lighting. False ceiling was installed to embed LED spotlights that provide the general light. For spot lighting, LED strips were used in the tall cabinets and spotlights inside the cabinets. Practical and sustainable.
